Schlaffe Haut an den Oberarmen kann verschiedene Ursachen haben.
Zum einen ist eine erblich bedingte Bindegewebsschwäche ein möglicher Auslöser. Aber auch Gewichtsschwankungen und das Alter selbst können die Haut an den Oberarmen erschlaffen lassen. Aus medizinischer Sicht ist eine Oberarmstraffung in der Regel nicht notwendig, daher muss der Patient die Kosten selbst tragen.
Der Eingriff wird in der Regel unter Vollnarkose ausgeführt. Da der gemachte Schnitt verhältnismäßig groß ist müssen Blutverdünnende Medikamente mindestens zehn Tage vor dem Eingriff abgesetzt werden.
Nachdem der Patient in Narkose versetzt wurde und seine Vitalfunktionen auf dem Monitor zu sehe sind beginnt der Chirurg mit dem Eingriff. Der Schnitt wird an der Innenseite des Armes gemacht. Wer nach dem Eingriff den Arm am Körper angelegt hat wird die Narbe nicht sehen. Die überschüssige Haut wird nun spindelförmig entfernt (ähnlich wie bei der Fettabsaugung). Im Anschluss legt der Chirurg in der Regel einen Drainageverband in die offene Wunde um das Wundsekret und Blut dadurch abzuleiten. Erst einige Tage später wird die Wunde vernäht.
Nach einer Oberarmstraffung kann es notwendig sein einen stützenden Verband zu tragen.
Dieser dient dazu, die Wunde nicht zu sehr durch unabsichtliches Bewegen zu dehnen.
Es ist wichtig auf die Hygiene zu achten. Wie jeder andere operative Eingriff kann auch eine Oberarmstraffung unangenehme Folgen haben. Aufgrund der Größe des Schnittes kommt es öfter zu Entzündungen als bei anderen plastischen Operationen wie beispielsweise dem Fettabsaugen. Ebenso sind eine verzögerte Wundheilung und Einblutungen ins Gewebe möglich. Die Risiken lassen sich minimieren, wenn man sich an die Hinweise des Arztes hält.
Nach etwa vierzehn Tagen können die Fäden gezogen werden. In der Regel verblasst die Narbe mit der Zeit immer mehr.
